About this role
As a video editor (your primary role), you’ll be working on a wide range of projects, from cutting raw footage, selecting music beds, and editing reels and corporate promos, to advanced post-production graphics, epic transitions, and colour grading. Above all, your job is to tell the client's story through video.
As a graphic designer (minor secondary role), you’ll be working closely with the rest of the team and our clients to develop brand identities - logos, mood boards, and style guides. Not a trained graphic designer? That's okay. If you have a good eye for design and a basic understanding of Adobe Illustrator, our team of graphic designers will train you.
A ‘typical’ fortnight might look like this…
80% Post Production Video Editing
10% On-location Videography
10% Graphic Design
As well as enjoying a very cool office space with your own workstation, Mac mini, and all the latest software you’ll ever need, you’re treated as an individual. You might want to work three, four, or five days a week. You might want to start your day earlier or a little later. You might want to go to the gym in the middle of the day… It's a conversation we can have. In return, we want your mad skills, passion for video, and reliability.
Your salary will be based on your skills and your experience. This is a permanent position with a strict three-month probation period.
About you
It all starts with raw talent. You either have it or you don’t in this game.
Good visual design is in your DNA. You naturally know how to compose a shot, colour grading excites you, and you know what’s on-trend (and what’s not). You dislike using templates, you don’t take shortcuts, and anything less than a reaction of ‘wow’ just won’t cut it for you. You’re a storyteller at heart and video is your chosen field of expertise. The Adobe Creative Cloud is your happy place. Premier Pro and After Effects bend to your will as you create movie magic. You geek out on YouTube tutorials in your spare time because you love it!
You might be straight out of uni with an epic portfolio (not just coursework), or you have a few years of agency experience. Then again, maybe you’re self-taught with a significant body of work to showcase? The point is - if you’re good - it’s all good! The rest can be learned.
